That's why we use the 6 Steps and Elements of Effective Mentoring to ensure it.

1. Recruitment.  Complete this short form.

2. Screening. Every partner organization has a screening process to make sure you and the child are emotionally, physically, and legally safe.

3. Training. We offer a 30-minute virtual onboarding for school-based mentors and a 6-part online training to equip you with confidence, knowledge, and skills to best care for the youth you were meant to care for. 

4. Matching and Initiating.  We want to quickly find you the best fit when it comes to partner organization. From there, the organization will guide you into properly initiating relationship.

5. Monitoring and Support. After every time you mentor/volunteer we ask you to provide feedback. This is for us, the partner organization, and yourself. When you take a feeling and make it concrete in words or writing, it becomes real.

6. Closure. Begin with the end in mind. Every mentoring relationship ends or shifts at some point.  We want you to end well. The last thing a child needs is for a mentor to end poorly or abruptly.
